This is a lavishly trimmed 2015 Ford Mustang Ecoboost and it showed up to work today to go on sale.
ECOBOOST!
Cylinder head is the exhaust manifold? Hell yeah!
Hngggggh nice rear!
Ford GT style switches, push button start, snik-aty-snik manual trans. Yes, yes, and yes!
Yikes that's more than a base Mustang GT. But if you sacrifice the 'My Ford Touch', leather interior, and some other odds and ends of the premium package, the Ecoboosts can be gotten as low as 25k, so not crazy.

It looks European almost. I really like it. I think it's the greenhouse; looks very Aston Martin.

Yeah I like that its an option in the Mustang line up. More economical in the short and long term in comparison with the GT.

The comments from some of the employees has been "looks to much like Fusion" to which I reply "awesome because I like the way the Fusion looks".
I want them to make St/Rs Fusion so bad.

I know it's a standards thing (as in I have none) but that's never really bothered me. Now if it where single exhaust with a fake second tip, that would be most whack.

But without it you can only use it as a weekend track car and for that (keeping the target demographic in mind) even $25k is too much.

I would dd/cross country the base package in a heart beat. 31 miles to the gallon highway!

You're focusing on the means, not the end. Who cares if it were even a 1-cylinder engine? It's 300hp with relatively luxurious appointments, in a sporty package. The "Jalopnik edition" BMW 3-series that everyone is always jizzing over is $34,000 for a "4-banger" BMW, with only like 180hp.
And you're missing the point of a 4-cylinder engine. It's still sporty when you want it to be, definitely more sporty than most cars you'd get your hands on for the day-to-day, and enough for today's streets, and even the autocross course. Think of any metropolitan area, like Chicago/Dallas/Miami/Atlanta/LA, the kind of city that's populated, but you still need a car to survive in most cases. A friend of mine has a Pontiac G8 in a city like this, and when traffic gets congested, i.e. any time except the middle of the night (and sometimes even then), the car won't even get city-rated MPG. His car gets almost 30mpg on an open highway, but on an average big-city highway with average speeds of 10-20mph on the way home to and from work, he gets TWELVE. A 4-cylinder turbo would still give over 20, and be fun enough for when you want to open it up.

The highway isn't the big rating. The various Chevrolet LSx cars get that, more or less. It's about the city mileage. When traffic gets congested, and your average speed on the highway drops to 15mph, a 5.0 Mustang will net you like 13-15mpg, whereas a 4 cylinder still gets over 20. And then, despite the added maintenance of a turbo, you are still much lower than a V8.

I have little jizz for the jalop edition BMW 3 series.
But, regardless, I don't care that it's the 4 banger, or 2 banger, or 3 banger, or whatever. I care that it is the base model Mustang and it costs $34,000. And Mustangs aren't even cool.

This is not a base model it's a premium edition with additional options added. Ecoboost base starts at 25k and Eco premium 29k and Mustangs with IRS are pretty cool.

If I worked for a Chevy dealership instead of a Ford I would def be buying a Camaro instead. There equally daily drivable/fun to me. Right now being a Ford employe it's split between Focus St or Eco Mustang for my next vehicle purchase.

It's a base model in the sense of chassis and drivetrain.
The mentality behind buying cars for premium features (tech/interior materials) is a big reason they've gotten needlessly expensive.

Just because the car doesn't have the absolute largest engine available in the lineup doesn't mean it's the base model; stop trolling, or go check out the Ford website before you talk out of your ass.
The base Mustang is $24,000 and comes with a V6, no Sync, no nicer stereo, no leather power seats, no Nav screen, no nicer paintjob, etc. The Mustang lineup goes base V6, base Ecoboost, and Premium Ecoboost. This Mustang is appointed with options that make life more fun. And I disagree about Mustangs not being cool; I think everything Ford has made in the last few years has been a huge turnaround, and they've gone from a company whose products I wouldn't touch with a 10-foot pole to being at the top of my list for both me and my wife's next car. This Mustang gives you all of the chassis performance/handling, plus nice features for having to put up with a car day-to-day, without the high nickel-and-dime-you-to-death costs of dailying a V8.

34k? You know how many v6 mustangs you could buy with that? Apparently 1.4.
